Summary of March Architectural Re-Write Meeting Mailbox & Shed Guidelines Updated

At the March 15, 2006 Architectural Re-Write Meeting the Board updated the Mailbox and Shed guidelines. The Board will continue to have ad-hoc meetings to review various guidelines, homeowners are welcome to attend. Additional changes to the following guidelines are expected; fence, door colors, landscaping, landscape lighting, and exterior decorative objects.

The Board unanimously agreed, to modify the current mailbox guideline to read, “Figure 5.6 should be used as a reference when changing the mailbox. If the mailbox is not significantly different than Figure 5.6 no application is needed.”

The Board unanimously agreed to modify the shed guideline Section 4.4 under paragraph one at the end of the paragraph will include, “Only one storage shed per lot is allowed.” Section 4.4.1.1 Guidelines for Town Homes to read, “1) The maximum height for exterior building may not exceed eight (8) feet wide by six (6) feet long by eight and a half (8 1/2) feet high.” Add number 4) “Sheds must be located in rear yard” and number 5) Prefabricated vinyl and plastic sheds are allowed, included but not limited to Rubbermaid sheds, subject to approval by the ACC.” Section 4.4.1.2 Guidelines for Single Family Homes, “The maximum size of any exterior building may not exceed ten (10) feet wide by ten (10) feet long by ten (10) feet high.” Add letter d.) “Shed must be located in the rear yard” and letter, e.) “Storage sheds must be located so as not to interfere with property drainage.” In the same section the paragraph under the figures will be removed, “As a general rule, exterior structures will be permitted in the rear yard…” Section 4.4.3 Screening Materials will also be removed. Section 4.4.4 Construction Materials and Section 4.4.5 Paints/Stains, the word “aluminum” will be removed. Section 4.4.4 will replace section 4.4.3, section 4.4.4 will replace section 4.4.5 and a new section 4.4.5 “Deck Boxes; Outdoor storage containers or “deck boxes” not exceeding 64 cubic feet do not require ACC approval and must be located in the rear yard only” will be added.
